FOODIES ALERT! The long wait is over. Farm to Table is finally opening on July 15.

A lifestyle restaurant serving organic food from brunch to dinner, coffee to craftbeers, Farm to Table is another addition to Iloilo's growing gastronomic destinations.

I and Antoine Greg Flores of were able to try its delightful offerings on the first day of its technical opening last June 24. The restaurant had a Pop Up Buffet last June 24, 25 and 26 to tease Ilonggo foodies. Though not really publicized, we  came in for dinner seeing the restaurant almost full of diners.

Farm to Table is the first standalone restaurant to open in Iloilo Business Park. For sure, Ilonggos will love its food selections as it brings fresh produces straight from the local farmers to the restaurant's tables.

Chef Pauline Banusing, owner of the restaurant said that it is her long time dream to open a restaurant that serves organic food. And Farm to Table is the materialization of that dream while she helps local farmers and organic growers make a living.

Though looking for organic farmers that will sustainably supply the restaurant is really a challenge nowadays, she really wants to relive her childhood experience of eating organic vegetables from their farm and drinking fresh juices made from newly-picked fruits.

Everything on Farm to Table's buffet is organic - from the the Binakol Soup and Kare-Kare with local Peanut Butter to the Punong Shrimps with Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and Pasta with Organic Tomatoes.

The Pop Up Buffet setup also includes the Native Pork Lechon Kawali, Native Pink Salmon and Native Pork, No Oil Chicken Adobo Flakes and choices of Black and Brown Rice, among others.

The menu will change from to time depending on the harvests of the local farmers. But one thing will surely remain - the ingredients will be always fresh and organic.

The best part for me is ofcourse, the dessert. Aside from my innate love for sweets, Farm to Table's concoction of Iloilo's very own delicacies awakened my local palate.

Childhood memories growing up in a farm flashed back as I put Ginat-an, Pitsi-Pitsi, Sapin-Sapin, Baye-Baye, Suman and Kutsinta on my plate.

More than the good food and really beautiful interiors, Farm to Table also boasts its wide ranging wine selection (probably the widest in Iloilo City) as it displays wines from Sonoma and Napa Valley, Bordeaux France, Australia, Spain, South Africa, and the Tuscan Regions of Italy.

For non-wine drinkers, no worries as Farm to Table has also organic coffee and craftbeers on its menu.

The restaurant will be also offering its ala carte menu on it grand opening. So, Ilonggo foodies, mark your calendars and prepare for an organic food trip on July 15!
